NVU is another web page builder that will make a web page for you with no knowledge of html. You must download and install it. To get the windows version click the download with the windows logo or that says windows. It is a very basic program.

If you have made or updated your site with NVU, click save (it saves a copy on your computer), then click publish to upload it to your webspace. Fill out the info it asks. In the ftp field put yoursitename.com (for first time under settings). yoursitename meaning the name of your website. If you have a .net .biz or other extension, use that instead of the .com

Remember your first page must be named index.html
Other pages can be named anything you like. NVU will automatically upload all required files.

There are many free and pay software web page builder programs out there. Be sure to check them out on the web.

FTP software uploads your website files from your computer to your web host. Most website makers have FTP built in. If you should need to upload your files(like if you write your code by hand), Most Internet Explorer users have built in ftp. AOL users can go keyword FTP (this will upload files to a web host for free.)

You can use WordPress or one of our other blogging tools for blogging(blogs are like public journals about anything you want). See the WordPress Tutorial. If you register your domain name with ProPowerHost we provide you with a free Quick blog.

To include video, you can embed .mpg and .avi. into your pages on our servers. It is also possible to http stream realplayer files. While http streaming causes a heavier server load, this works well for small or medium sized websites and is much cheaper than using expensive streaming servers.
