Download the latest WordPress to your computer and uncompress it.
Then log on to your hosting account and create a mysql database. Directions: Sign in to your ProPowerHost hosting account. Hold your mouse over the Web Hosting button and click My Hosting Accounts. Under control panel, click, open. Click Databases, MYSQL. Click create a new database. Fill in the username and password fields. The username will be the name of the database. Click continue. Click create database. You may have to wait a couple of minutes for the database to setup. When the database is setup, Click the eye icon or database name, and copy the hostname exactly. It is suggested you use the copy and paste feature of your mouse to make it easier. You will need this shortly.
Make some minor edits. Go to the WordPress folder you uncompressed on your computer. Open the folder. Right click on wp-config-sample.php (depending on windows version you may not see the .php) and left click on open with. Select and click notepad. Users of non windows operating systems would edit these files in their own programs.
Replace name here (in example below- name in actual file different) with the database name you chose. For these examples, the text names of only your edit areas were changed for better understanding. The single 'quotes' on either side of your database name entry and all other code must stay. Enter the Password where it says passwordhere. Enter the hostname you copied before, where it says localhost. (Here's your(nevermind) 1% odds). Now, click file, save as. Name it wp-config.php Upload the, complete wordpress folder and files inside it to your webspace. If you want to have access your blog from a folder like: http://yoursitename/blog , then simply rename the wordpress folder to any name you want (blog in this example). If you want to access it directly from http://yoursitename.com, then copy all files in the folder directly to your webspace without the folder.
Open your web browser and type http://yoursitename.com/wp-admin/install.php http://yoursitename.com/wp-login.php or http://yoursitename.com/blognamehere/wp-login.php Happy Blogging!
